The beginning price for a basic EDC/hunting/camping knife from Andersen Forge is in the $400.00 range, and in the $250.00 range for a small Integral. This includes a knife completely hand forged by me, Karl B. Andersen. All knives will be thoroughly heat treated and tempered by the best means at my disposal according to the steel type used. Also included is a wet-molded and hand stitched sheath, designed for the knife it is intended to carry!
Beyond these simple guidelines, additional increases will be added for take-down handles, special sheaths, exotic and/or rare handle materials, Damascus blades, etc.
Tell me what you are interested in and I will do my best to please you. When I have the knife done, I will email pictures for your approval. If it meets your approval, we're in business! You will then need to send me the balance, if any, and I will send you your knife!
It has become increasingly obvious to me that the knife making "Industry" has at least a small confusion on the simple definition of "Custom" Knives, or "Custom" anything, for that matter. "Custom" has always meant, and is still defined as "according to customer specifications."
I am a "Professional Knifemaker", who, when called upon, will undertake "custom" orders, if I feel that I can supply to the customer that which is requested.
Most of my knifemaking efforts, however, will be to offer knives on my web site for sale to those who want them and to take to knife shows.
It is important that ALL! of my customers understand that a custom knife, (or a custom ANYTHING!) is not made over night. Please assure yourself that I am working as dilligently as I can on your knife.
