| Osage Integral $SOLD!$ This knife, like most of my Integrals, was forged from a 52100 round bearing steel bar. The unique quality of this knife is the handle material - Stabilized Osage. Not so unique in itself, but the fact that it was harvested in 1966 IS rather unique. While scouting some deer hunting property almost 13 years ago, I came across an abandoned saw mill that last functioned in the 60s. The land owner told me I was welcomed to anything I found there. What I found was a dozen Osage logs that had been squared on two sides. Of course I loaded them up and they've been in my possession since. Occasionally I cut up some small blocks, place them in the ceiling of my shop for about 6 months, and then send them off to be stabilized. Here in the Midwest we refer to Osage as "Hedge", as their growth, and ability to withstand harsh conditions, has made them the ideal "hedge row" of trees between farming properties as a wind break. These wind breaks were built over the years to minimize winds across the flat lands and lessen top soil loss. If you've ever had to deal with a hedge tree, you'll know it will take the edge right off of a brand new chain saw blade! Whenever someone would want to eliminate a hedge row, they bring out the bull dozers! It's ability to withstand attack from bugs and rot, has also made it the ideal post for fence rows. Miles and miles of fences still exist that were put in place a hundred years ago. Long explanation for a $250.00 knife. But quite possibly information some may not know. ------------------------------

Macassar Ebony Integral
!SOLD!
Hard to believe - isn't it? A fully hand-forged and professionally heat-treated and crafted fully integral knife for under $300.00?? Believe it. It's true. I will continue to offer these knives as long as there appears to be a market for them, and I truly hope this will be a looooooooooong time. This knife was forged from my personal stash of 1984 5160 1 inch square stock steel. It was heat treated with the exact processes I use for my regular style blades. The integral blade was matched with a beautiful piece of Macassar Ebony. The first offering of this kind from your source of Professionally made knives - Andersen Forge! ---------------------------
