Curly Walnut and W2 Bowie
!SOLD!
I had a friend drop by a few pieces of fire a couple of years ago and this is what was inside one of them!! A beautiful configuration of "curl" inside that Walnut firewood.
After drying in my garage ceiling for two years, I sent this and some other pieces from the same walnut, to the pros to have them all stabilized.
The W2 blade is 9 1/2" and was clay-backed during the hardening process to reveal that wonderful hamon.
The Take-down fittings are from a stash of 1903 wrought iron that I love to use occasionally.

W2 and Ironwood
"English" Hunter
SOLD!
$500.00
A customer of mine from England asked me to make a knife for him to take on his upcoming Texas hog hunt.
The un-told story is that he and his wife are moving to the US and are at this moment packing! They've been dealing with immigration for some time now to get everything legal. Isn't that strange? Going through "Immigration" to make your move to the US legal?
Anyway, I got his knife done yesterday and sent him this photo.
His response was:
"HOT DIGGETY PIG!!!!!
That's just perfect mate, I couldn't be happier with it!
The Ironwood is delicious. Beautiful colour variation & the blade is .......well.....it's perfect. Just perfect!
Thanks for everything Brother. I can't wait to meet you in person & shake your hand.
Take care my friend.
Rob."

This was a clay backed/hamon treated bladed forged from 2 inch W2.
The mild steel take-down fittings were hot-blued.
And the handle is a pretty nice piece of Desert Ironwood.
I'm proud to have made it for our friend.

W2 Western Bowie
SOLD!
Here's a 7 1/2" Short Bowie forged from large stock W2 and clay treated to expose a delicious little hamon!
Rope filed stainless guard, satin spacer and fitted/polished butt cap with a stainless finial for your take-down pleasure!
Rock solid piece of Sambar Stag left the way Nature designed it.
Tons of fun!

Crotch-cut Walnut and W2 Personal Carry
!SOLD!
I like my knives to have a little story! To be honest, this handle was destined for the fireplace! I have a retired friend who cuts firewood to stay busy. He had this walnut crotch and ask if I had any use for it. Boy, did I! I cut it into blocks, dried it for two years, and had it professionally stabilized.
It got SOOOOOO dark, that it's hard to photography well. It's almost like a piece of African Blackwood, but has some amazing character.
Blade is a clay-backed W2 hunter-style with a false edge.
Hot-blued mild steel Take-down fittings.

Blackwood "Defender"
SOLD!
I hope this photo communicates how cool this Blackwood turned out to be. It's just not that often that I find blackwood that has FIGURE! This actually has a few eyes on the obverse side, as well as some burl.
Hand filed into shape to fit right smack in the "pocket" of your hand!
The 5 3/4" clipped blade was forged from large stock 5160, and selectively hardened.
The stainless guard and un-seen finial are designed for full take-down accomodation.
Balance point is right where the handle material meets the back of the guard.
Heavy leather sheath.
Should make a really nice belt knife for roving, or simply to toss in the back pack or Bug-out-Bag.

Blackwood "Defender"
Ebony and Wrought Iron Bowie
SOLD!
I forged this 9 1/2" Bowie from my 1" square 5160 made in 1984. The hand-shaped and etched Wrought Iron fittings are from a structure built in 1903.
I had the block of Ebony here in my shop for quite a while and finally decided to put it to use! I hand-sanded the material to a full 1500 grit finish and then gave it a quick polish that is almost like glass!
The balance point on this knife is at the Maker's Mark.
Very nice package overall.
